10 Rules of Composistion

1.  Impact
This is one of the parking meters on the side of the street by the Martin Luther King Jr. Library.  I thought it looked cool with only the P in focus on the side of the meter while blurring everything else in the background.

2.  Cropping
This was on the side of a truck on the other side of the street.  I did not want to zoom in too much so I got a ton of the black side of the truck and the logo.  I cropped out so I focused strictly on the logo without any excess.

Here is a photo shown below for another type of composition but it works here as well I think.

3.  Biggest, Boldest, Brightest
I selected this photo because of how drawn your eye is to the red moped.  I was just taking a photo from the hip while walking and noticed this moped.  Did not realize how automatic your eye goes to it until I reviewed the photos.  I hope this qualifies for this.

4.  KISS
This is a chain locking an alleyway on the side of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

This is a drain which is on the back side of Mill South.  There is only brick surrounding it with nothing else to distract your eye.

5.  Rule of Thirds
I think this qualifies because of the busy nature of the bottom of the photo and the open sky at the top of the photo.

6.  Leading Lines
This is represents because of the painted lines on the street that lead your eye to the Capitol building.

7.  Balance
The main entrance of St. Patrick's Cathedral with the lights show a balance on either side of the main door.

I am focusing on the American flag and trying to use the streetlights as the balancing factor.

8.  Use of Framing
I tried framing the "PARK" sign by using the wall of the building, awning, and the light pole.

I am using a old map frame which is clearly missing the map.  I am showing the focus on the mailbox and then the frame itself.

9.  Avoid Mergers
There is nothing 'growing' out of the worker so I thought this works for this.

10.  Room for Logical Movement
A car driving on the road with room to move ahead of it.
